St Patricks Day Parade

It’s that time again! Saturday, March 16th will hold the 257th Annual New York City St Patricks Day parade. The parade will begin at 11:00 AM on 44th St and work its way up 5th Ave to its conclusion at 86th Street. Additionally many Irish pubs will be participating in the festivities from the legendary McSorleys to the Ye Olde Tripple Inn to Bayard’s Ale House. The Armory Show

The Armory Show returns to NYC for another year of breathtaking art exhibitions! Over 200 galleries from 30 counties will be contributing to one of the cities largest rotating art fair rivaled only by Frieze NY with the events taking place on Piers 90, 92 and 94 from March 8th to March 11th. Women’s History Month

March is Women’s History Month with many of the best events being centered around the occasion! There will be an exhibition revolving around the work of Frida Kahlo titled Frida Kahlo: Appearances Can Be Deceiving which will be happening at the Brooklyn Museum until it’s conclusion on May 12th, modern contemporary artist Gina Beavers will have a exhibition at the MOMA which will be running through the majority of the year up to September 2nd and Barnard College will be hosting Athena Film Festival which is a celebration of women’s stories on film and their work behind the camera amongst many other events. Live Concerts

March has no shortage of excellent live concerts! Elton John will be performing his final shows at Madison Square Garden on March 5th and 6th with the legendary Fleetwood Mac performing at MSG as well on the 10th and 11th. Hip Hop legend Ice Cube will be performing at Terminal 5 on March 6th and just 2 days later on the 8th, Emo staples The Sounds of Animals Fighting will be performing at the same venue. Irving Plaza will be hosting Odd Future underdog, Earl Sweatshirt on March 30th while Norwegian Black Metallers Ulver with be performing on the 21st and 22nd. Additionally Indie Rock legends Teenage Fanclub will be performing at the Music Hall of Williamsburg on March 14th. Please see your Concierge for ticket information.

The Macy’s Flower Show

NYC will be budding with blooms all over, but nothing beats roaming the sweet-smelling foliage that suddenly appears at one of the city’s best department stores: Macy’s Herald Square! The event will begin on March 24th and will run all the way through April 7th and admission is free! Please see your Concierge for additional information.

Local Lower East Side

This month the Tenement Museum on Delancey and Orchard St will be hosting “Immigration in the US: Policies, Trends, Our Stories”, a three session discussion regarding the history of immigration in NYC during the turn of the century beginning on March 10th. Madatrova will be hosting a fashion event at the Ludlow House on March 2nd giving an exclusive opportunity to shop the latest collections from 15+ emerging fashion brands to know, with personal styling by international celebrity stylist Nat Rosenfeld and Maison Mohe designer Chloe Amutio. In addition to “Immigration in the US”, The Tenement Museum will also be hosting a Women’s History Month Pop-up Exhibit on March 28th from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM. Graff Tours

We’ve partnered with graffiti tour company Graff Tours to bring you a unique new way to experience the Lower East Side neighborhood and its vibrant street art scene. Sign up at our concierge desk for a tour, a graffiti lesson with a local artist, or both!

The 90 minute tour starts with a visit to Jean-Michel Basquiat's old studio and the old home of The CBGB Rock Venue, then winds through the Centre-fuge Art Project that is using the New York City Subway as its canvas and finishes where Keith Haring once stood underneath Manhattan's largest street art mural.

If you opt for the lesson, you’ll learn tips and techniques of aerosol art from an authentic NYC graffiti artist. This unique hands-on lesson allows you to create your own art project to take home at the end of the experience. Paint, canvas, and gloves are all provided.

Tour ( $150 for up to 5 people), Daily at 1pm*
Meeting Location: Meet at Think Coffee 1 Bleecker St. in Manhattan Northwest Corner of Bleecker St. and The Bowery . The tour ends where it begins.
